Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy is a modern, minimally invasive surgical method where a tiny camera is inserted into a joint to diagnose and treat problems such as joint inflammation, torn cartilage, or loose fragments. It only requires very small incisions and is often used in shoulders, elbows, or knees.

Most pet owners are concerned about traditional surgical procedures due to their invasive or complex nature. This is why arthroscopy (and endoscopy) is one of the best advancements in veterinary surgical procedures because it is minimally invasive. This means that we don’t need to open up the whole joint and the incisions are quite small. The procedure itself allows for faster recovery and healing of the scars. Take a closer look inside of arthroscopy for common cruciate ligament tears or ruptures.

Why it matters: Arthroscopy means less pain, smaller scars, and a quicker recovery. Your pet gets a faster return to comfort and activity, and the procedure allows for very precise diagnosis and treatment.
